David Brinker was born and raised in Dallas, Oregon and now lives with his wife Rachael and kids Isabel, and Easton in Portland, Oregon. As a marketer for the hunting apparel brand Sitka Gear, David spends his time in Big Sky country with his family, hunting the mountains, or singing behind the mic.
Whether it be through my full time job of marketing at Sitka Gear, or through songs, I love telling stories. Since my dad introduced me to greats like the Eagles, Garth Brooks, and Willie Nelson, I’ve always admired great songwriters. Just the ability to hit someone in the heart with something memorable in three minutes still fascinates me and has become a passion.
I respect and listen all kinds of music, but country is what I naturally write. Even more specifically, I write “down the middle” country about the life I live and the experiences I’ve had in this part of the globe. From the rainy Pacific Northwest, to the jagged peaks of the Rocky Mountains, and everything in between, I’m inspired by the people and places that I’ve grown up around. My goal has been to be grounded on the fundamentals of Nashville songwriting, but still write about my life in the west.
