The 11th Annual Red Lodge Songwriter Festival takes place June 17-19, 2027 in the quant little mountain town of Red Lodge, Montana.
For three days in June, Red Lodge’s streets, bars, cafes, and theaters become a gathering place for songwriters from Nashville, Montana, and across the country. This festival showcases the art of songwriting at its highest level.
The 11th Annual Red Lodge Songwriter Celebration will feature 24 great songwriters across eight downtown venues, performing over 50 shows. You won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity to hear these songwriters share the stage, play their songs, and tell the stories behind them.
A festival with a purpose, we support music education in our community. Since 2016, the RMSWF, Inc. has donated more than $185,000 to fulfill our mission.

Songs On The Yellowstone
For three days in October, Livingston’s Yellowstone Songwriter Festival celebrates the art of songwriting, set against the stunning backdrop of Livingston, Montana. Nestled in the heart of the Yellowstone River Valley, a stone’s throw from Yellowstone Park, this Festival brings together talented songwriters and passionate music lovers for a weekend of unforgettable performances and intimate storytelling.
The Festival shines a spotlight on the songwriters themselves. Music fans have the unique opportunity to hear the stories behind the songs, directly from the artists who crafted them. The intimate settings of the songwriter performances create an engaging and personal experience that connects you with the music on a deeper, more meaningful level.

A Festival With A Purpose
The Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festivals was founded in 2016 as a 501 c) (3) organization. We currently produce two songwriting festivals, the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival in Red Lodge, Montana, and the Livingston Songwriter Festival in Livingston, Montana.
Music has the tremendous power to impact lives through music education, influence economic growth through tourism, and provide opportunity for songwriters to share their talents and songs with enduring music fans.
It is our mission to:
- Promote the art of songwriting and share the music and stories of songwriters.
- Promote our host communities as a tourist destination for music, bringing incremental revenue to local businesses and
- Support music education.
Since 2016, we have produced eighteen songwriter festivals, hosted hundreds of songwriters and thousands of fans, and donated over $190,000 for music education in Montana & Wyoming.

Since 2017 The Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest has given songwriters from across the country a chance to be heard.
We’re believers in creativity, chasing dreams and getting the chance to pursue your passion. We know it takes courage, conviction and passion to pursue your music drams and find your purpose.
Since then over 1,000 songwriters have entered our contests and gone on to play our festivals and furthered their careers.
